Images of what looks to be DJI‘s next drone have leaked in images posted to Twitter of a drone most likely to be the DJI Mavic Air 2. Originally found by DroneDJ images have surfaced on Twitter of what could be the DJI Mavic Air 2 coming out within the next year, not the DJI Spark 2.
UPDATE: DJI’s new Mavic Mini has leaked.
Twitter user OsitaLV has shared photos of yet another unreleased DJI product giving us hope that the DJI Mavic Air 2 will be coming soon. When will it be released? DJI’s upcoming event will likely be focused on the Osmo Mobile 3 which is soon to be launching while an event later on in the year will most likely the new drone.
What about the Spark? We think DJI will stop the Spark series of drone and just run with the Mavic series as it has been much more successful for the company and recognizable. That being said some of the Spark’s best features will likely make its way to this new DJI Mavic Air 2 along with the features of the original Mavic Air.
The new drone is in a white/light grey color similar to the limited edition alpine white Mavic Pro released a while ago. The new drone looks to be a cross over between the Mavic Air and the original Mavic Pro drone. The new drone looks to share a similar design as the Mavic Air in terms of battery placement under the drone and gimbal/camera that resembles that of the Mavic Air.
The drone looks to have lost a few features to be found on DJI’s latest drone, the lack of quick release props and the 360-degree sensors found on the Mavic 2 line of drones. That’s to be expected with its size. It does have forward-facing sensors as well as the usual camera and ultrasonic sensor found on the bottom of the drone.
Would you buy the DJI Mavic Air 2 when it comes out? What features do you want to see on the drone? Let us know.
