2020 has just begun, and with a new year comes new products, specifically new drones. Let’s take a look at the best drones coming into 2020, the ones that were born in 2020, and the ones still to come. We are taking a look at best or most promising drones from DJI, Autel, Skydio, and PowerVison.

Autel Robotics Evo 2 & Evo 2 Pro

The Autel Evo 2 was launched this year at CES, where the company showed us what they are capable of. The Evo 2 series comprises of three drones, but today we will be focusing on the two focused at the consumer market.

The Autel Evo 2 and the Autel Robotics Evo 2 Pro are both drones that have left 4k in 2019. The normal Evo 2 has an 8K camera capable of some amazing video, 48MP photo, and slow-motion video. The Evo 2 Pro is capable of 6K video and 20MP photos but is equipped with a 1-inch sensor, allowing for better low light performance.

DJI Mavic 2 Pro

Mavic 2 Pro – $1,729

The DJI Mavic 2 Pro was a big deal when it first came out back in 2018. The Mavic 2 Pro is equipped with a 1-inch sensor capable of 4K video and impressive slow-motion video. The quality out of the camera is breathtaking, even more, due to the portable size of the drone.

Skydio 2

Skydio 2 – $999

Skydio 2 was able to excite many in the drone community, thanks to its unique take on obstacle avoidance. The Skydio 2 didn’t focus on putting a 1-inch camera on the drone, rather they focused on creating an obstacle avoidance system that knew the surroundings. Skydio 2 is able to actively track its surroundings, and more importantly, dynamically move around it.

PowerVision PowerEgg X

PowerEgg X – $899

The PowerVision PowerEgg X is a unique take on a drone, making it more of an accessory to the camera module. The PowerEgg X combines a handheld camera, static camera, and a drone module in one. The PowerEgg X is equipped with a 4K 30 fps camera with a set of removable drone arms. The camera also allows you to record audio through your device while flying and can even land on water.

DJI Mavic Mini

Mavic Mini – $399

The DJI Mavic Mini is a sub-250 gram drone designed to allow new drone pilots into the hobby without having to purchase a license to fly it. The Mavic Mini is equipped with a 2.7K camera capable of 12MP photos, essentially a flying phone camera. Mavic Mini is the replacement for the DJI Spark.
