AKASO V50 Pro review – a great budget action camera

Published on

in

The AKASO V50 Pro is a budget 4k action camera that comes in under AUD$200. With many of the features of much more expensive cameras, the AKASO V50 Pro is worth taking a look at. Let’s take a look at how it holds up in the current market, with a few sample videos and photos.

The AKASO V50 Pro is a sub AUD$200 camera from action camera maker AKASO. The V50 Pro comes with a large number of accessories including, two batteries, remote control, extra mounts, charger, and a few other accessories you wouldn’t find in the box of a GoPro.

This 4K action camera from AKASO is a great take on a budget action camera. While many of these cameras are riddled with the issue at every stage, this one isn’t. With great 4K resolution and an easy to use operating system accessed via a touchscreen makes the AKASO V50 Pro the perfect action camera for those on a budget.

Pros

Price

The camera comes in at just AUD$159.99 from Amazon. This is a great price for a high-quality 4K action camera. The camera also has built-in features to allow it to be used as a dashcam when you aren’t using it as an action camera.

Build quality

The camera is covered with a rubberized finish in a greyish blue color. The camera has a sturdy and weighty feel to it, reassuring that the camera is not just a cheap knock-off.

Accessories included

The camera comes with a vast amount of accessories allowing you to get up and running right out of the box. The camera comes with a waterproof housing, a cage, a wrist remote, 3M mounting pads and a lot of three-prong mounts. If you require any extra mounts standard GoPro mounts will work as well.

Cons

Touch input

The touch input can be a little laggy with this camera and sometimes won’t register every so often. Other than that the touch input is actually decent for the price and screen.

User Interface

The user interface follows closely with a majority of all the cheaper products that come out of China, the 2006 era and not optimized. The interface is outdated and has a few small buttons which could easily be made bigger to fit the screen. They need to start taking pointers from GoPro’s new UI.

Overall the AKASO V50 Pro is a great entry-level action camera with features normally found on the more expensive cameras. The camera produces great 4K quality and decent photos. Since a majority of people only post to social media and view content on small screens this is perfect! Plus if you break it, it won’t break the bank.

You can purchase the AKASO V50 Pro for AUD$159.99 from Amazon.
