DJI has had an interesting week with various leaks on its upcoming products set to hit the market this year. The latest DJI RoboMaster was launched earlier this week, along with the DJI Mavic, and a new thermal camera leaked. Now we just have to wait and see if the products do end up coming out.
DJI’s latest Mavic drone, RobotMaster, and camera leaks
DJI Mavic
The new DJI Mavic looks to be a replacement for the DJI Mavic Air, further simplifying the Mavic line of drones. The new drone appears to follow the same design of the Mavic 2 series, including having a similar camera that also matches the DJI Mavic Mini. The DJI Mavic will include 360-degree obstacle avoidance with a similar set of sensors on the bottom found on the Mavic 2, including the LED landing lights.
Since the DJI Mavic will be replacing the DJI Mavic Air, it is likely the drone will have a price tag of around USD$1,000, which also includes a new remote without a built-in display and a phone mount positioned at the top of the remote.
DJI RoboMaster EP
The new DJI RoboMaster EP comes with the ability to use third-party hardware, software, and includes an open SDK to allow companies and programmers to expand its uses. The robot can be converted from its original shooting style to an engineering style with a controllable arm. A big plus is the RoboMaster EP is compatible with Arduino, Rasberry Pi, and Micro: bit, to name a few. Thanks to the open SDK, over 50 sensors can be equipped to the robot to allow for manipulating your needs.
DJI Zenmsue XT3 thermal camera
The leak of the new thermal imaging camera looks to be the Zenmuse XT3, likely to come out with the DJI Matrice 300 series of drones. The camera is likely to have improved specs and has a new design with an unknown object above the thermal imaging sensor.
