Pictures of what looks to be the DJI’s next FPV drone, DJI Avata 2 have showed up online, suggesting the next FPV drone from the company is not too far away.

A picture of what could potentially be DJI’s next FPV Goggles, Goggles 3 have also shown up online overnight with a new and interesting feature.

DJI Avata 2

The image, shared on X/Twitter by @JasperEllens shows a drone that closely resembles the original DJI Avata with a slightly longer footprint. The rear of the drone also mentions the name Avata 2, suggesting this is in fact the DJI Avata 2.

We are not 100% sure on the sizing of the drone or if DJI has just played around with the dimensions for the second iteration, potentially done to include a longer battery for more flight time?

DJI Avata 2 looks to have spot on the top for a 4G module to sit in, bringing it in line with most of DJI’s enterprise drones. Having a 4G module would allow Avata 2 to be used for long distance and complex flights.

Based on the lighting of the image, it looks like the drone has been cutout of a real-life image rather than a render. This could mean the Avata 2 is still in testing. If we were to see a marketing image of the drone, a release would be close.

DJI Goggles 3

DJI Goggles 3, shared on X/Twitter by @RX_LOSS looks to take on the design of the latest generation goggles and updates it to look a little sleeker while adding two cameras on the front. On the top of the goggles, we can see text printed on it, saying ‘Display Unit’, which means stores are already recieving these goggles or this is from a DJI employee.

The face rest extends above the goggles and is on a hinge to better fit to your face. Looking at the cameras, these could allow for pass-through video so you can see the Avata 2 flying when taking-off and landing. The cameras could also be used to notify you if someone is coming up to you.
