Earlier this morning during DJI’s “Fly as you are’ event the new DJI Mavic Mini was announced as expected. The new DJI Mavic Mini comes in at $399 (AUD$599), an impressive 2.7k camera, the classic DJI Mavic design and an array of sensors.

DJI publicly released its new drone, the DJI Mavic Mini earlier today to replace the Mavic Air and Spark drones. The new drone comes after months worth of rumors and leaks have been shared throughout the internet.

The much anticipated DJI Mavic Mini removes a few features that are found on the current DJI drones – pointing to an entry-level DJI Spark replacement. The DJI Mavic Mini has been able to keep and improves on previous features. Is it enough to make the DJI Mavic Mini a drone worth buying?

Here are the main features you should know about before purchasing the new DJI Mavic Mini. The DJI Mavic Mini forgoes a 4k camera for a 2.7k camera, the usual smart flight modes (no panoramic photos), not to mention the classic DJI Mavic look all coming in at 249 grams! Great for the US and Australia’s new drone laws when they come into play soon.

You can get the new DJI Mavic Mini from the DJI store for $399 (AUD$599) and the DJI Mavic Mini fly more combo can be picked up for $499 (AUD$799). The fly more combo adds a carrying case, propeller guards, spare propellers, extra batteries and a battery charger capable of charging 3 batteries at once.

We will definitely be getting our hands on the DJI Mavic Mini. Will you be getting one or skipping this release? Let us know in the comments if there is anything specific you would like us to test out once the DJI Mavic Mini gets into our hands.
